About Us

Why it was started

We exist to spread the Gospel that contains the eternal Truth, and also to advocate against social issues that we know are abominable in God’s sight, yet widely practiced.

While most Singapore churches are still faithfully preaching the Gospel (which we also agree should be the forefront and basis of our efforts), most are also not actively speaking out against such causes. Deep down in our hearts, we are grieved by these social issues, and believe that many Christians do, too. The more we read God’s Infallible Word (the Bible), the more we are convinced that we should do this.

We aim to help those in need with the Gospel, for the Gospel is the only Good News that Saves a person from sin, and also shows us how much God loves us (read more about it in our Gospel page).

Who started it

We are a group of Christians who yearn to spread God’s Word, and aim to make the society a better place by voicing out against social issues we know that are not resonating with God’s Teachings. We do all these out of the love for God, and not for ourselves. For if the Lord is willing to die for our sins, our small gesture is nothing, compared to His great love. We also know that, without the Lord Jesus Christ, we cannot do anything (John 15:5). Hence, if there are any good outcomes that are due to our groups’s actions, it is the Lord’s doing, and not ours. Soli Deo Gloria!

Our doctrinal positions

What we believe

As Christians, we take our stand on the Bible, which we hold to be the very Word of God and are fully persuaded of its’ truth. We believe all that the Bible says regarding God, the world, man, our nature and state, what God requires of us and what He has done, the coming judgment, and what we must do. Not a statement of the Bible is in error, and it is the only sure foundation for what we do.

The Bible also sets forth the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, our Lord and Savior, who will save all who come to Him by faith. The Word of God promises forgiveness and everlasting life to all who obey the gospel, but also warns of the terrifying end of all who reject the call to believe.

Our Confessions

As Christians who stand in the Reformed tradition, we hold to a number of historical documents (known as Confessions), written by learned men of God who have gone before us. While the Bible is our final authority, we are fully persuaded, through our own study of the Bible, that the doctrine set forth in these documents faithfully and accurately represent the teaching of the Bible in systematic form, allowing us to articulate our faith in a manner consistent with the Word of God, and also serve as a guide in matters of faith and practice.

The confessions that the individuals in Reformed For Life hold to fall into two categories: the 3 Forms of Unity and the Westminster Standards.

The 3 Forms of Unity

  • The Belgic Confession
  • The Heidelberg Catechism
  • The Canons of Dort

The Westminster Standards

  • The Westminster Confession of Faith
  • The Westminster Larger Catechism
  • The Westminster Shorter Catechism

The Church behind us

We do not have any Church backing us. In fact, we are from more than 3 different Churches!
